A vergonza era verde e comeuna a vaca

A vergonza era verde e comeuna a vaca (The shame was green and the cow ate it) is a journey into the unconscious. A path filled with overlapping voices that interrupt each other and even censor one another. The research, which starts from the language of movement and voice, begins to take shape in the artist's TFG (UCM, 2023), titled “Where Are You Going, Alice?” It is a dialogue with multiple voices that takes place within the mind during the creative process.

“Naive is a restless, curious person overflowing with excitement; she draws oceans of possibilities and isn’t afraid to navigate each one. She is also the one with the least prominence in the TFG, always overshadowed and limited by the other voices.” The artist intends to embody this personality during the process of creating a short dance piece. Naive allows her to sketch new imaginaries, to sail new seas that distance themselves from the rational logics that dominate the world. To be everything she wishes to experience.

The title, A vergonza era verde e comeuna a vaca (The shame was green and the cow ate it) , refers to a popular Galician saying. Shame is a feeling deeply rooted in censorship and the idea of correctness or norms. The artist seeks to give herself permission to dismantle limits within a creation that aims to transcend internal and external barriers, to engage with the context and be affected by it, inhabiting its multiple skins and allowing all voices to speak. Additionally, she will find in traditional dance a connection to ritual and an approach to an ancestral memory that is still very present in the Galician youth today.
