Monxa Millo Sentinela
In the Galician territory, popular culture, bodies, and landscape are shaped by unfulfilled promises, either displaced onto other territories or held in suspension. To dismantle the aesthetic machinery that reproduces these promises, it is necessary to work through their sensorial understanding.
Monxa Millo Sentinela is a stage research project situated at the end of waiting. Monxa Millo Sentinela is based on three archetypal bodies: the nun, the corn, and the sentinel, which will be put into crisis, perverted, and transformed.
Sara Somoza & Ismael Eirexas Romeü
Sara Somoza is a stage creator. Her research revolves around the most fragile, small, and failed existences. She understands contemporary performing arts practice as a space in which these can resist disappearance. To explore this, she works on the tensions between fiction and documentary. She completed a Master’s degree in Contemporary Scenic Thought and Creation at the School of Dramatic Arts of Castile and León, where she developed the piece Becky Newton? She performs, directs, and writes.
Ismael Eirexas Romeü is a travesti and visual-stage creator. Their work as a drag performer moves away from the hegemonic aesthetics of the drag field, delving into Galician vernacular practices of performativity and reinterpreting them to highlight their dissident and critical relationship to gender. Likewise, through the design, creation, and presentation of masks as the core of their research, they propose the creation of a contemporary aesthetic and performative archive that dialogues with queer projects of historical and cultural rewriting.
