Suksen
Suksen stems from a curiosity around the fetishization of the popular imaginary of mourning and wake rituals. What would happen if, from a queer perspective, we approached death? How can we return to the intimacy and stillness present in this catharsis? What exists within queer practice that can help reimagine this tradition and its forms of care?
Suksen explores, through the body, a state of physical extremity, positioning itself in the limbo between intimate darkness and a noisy dawn. It works with residual capacity, inherent to a tired body that continues to move in order to survive, to be heard, to be accompanied.
Jandross Rodríguez
Alejandro Rodríguez, artistically known as Jandross (Vilagarcía de Arousa, 2000), is a Galician dancer and creator whose work lies at the intersection of performing arts, academic research, and cultural management. Initially trained in Hip Hop and musical theatre, since 2018 he has focused his artistic language on Waacking, actively participating in both national and international communities and strengthening his training with leading figures through events and workshops over the past seven years. He works as a teacher and co-director of the urban dance professional program PikaYMika in A Coruña, and as a rotating teacher within Waacking Spain.
As a performer, his professional career began in 2018, notably with his participation in the musical Cats and in various audiovisual projects for emerging artists. Over the past three years, he has maintained a close collaboration with the artist Mondra, performing as a dancer in the tour De Ronda. Driven by a strong commitment to creation, Jandross leads the project A Noite do Cuco, a work in progress that reflects on grief and its associated traditions in the present, laying the foundations of his scenic identity.
