Fantastic Futures (A Beginning)

“Dancing in queer nostalgia” is not just a dance; it is a pop TV show, a shared meme, or a quirky advertisement for a dance archive. It is a space for the coexistence of different dance stories, open to kinetic empathy, pleasure, satisfaction, and radical tenderness.

Fantastic Futures is built from ultraperipheral spaces, revisiting our emotional, hidden, ashamed, and guilty pasts, those from behind. It is a rebellion against linear time, where sentimentality and shared memories forge new collective queer realities.

The concepts of “future/queer nostalgia” and “reading from behind” frame the research series that Aleksandar Georgiev began with the works Screensaver and The Power of S.

Fantastic Futures is the next work in this series, starting with this first experience in Galicia titled Fantastic Futures (a beginning).
