The RPM Collective, in collaboration with the Auditorio de Galicia, is organizing a workshop with artist Aleksandar Georgiev aimed at performers interested in sharing a collective experience centered around the artistic universe of this European dancer and choreographer.
The workshop, which will take place from July 31 to August 7 in the Isaac Díaz Pardo Hall in Santiago de Compostela, will delve into the research and creative approaches Aleksandar Georgiev is exploring for his new work Fantastic Futures. The goal of this initiative is to create a collective version titled Fantastic Futures (a beginning), which will be presented at the Parque de Bonaval on August 7 at 8 p.m. as part of the C Festival in Santiago de Compostela.
"Dancing in queer nostalgia" is not just a dance; it’s a pop TV show, a shared meme, or a quirky advertisement for a dance archive. It is a space for the coexistence of different dance histories, open to kinetic empathy, pleasure, satisfaction, and radical tenderness. Fantastic Futures is built from ultra-peripheral spaces, revisiting our emotional pasts—those that are hidden, ashamed, and guilty, the ones from behind.
